The MCM means a lot to me. After graduating high school, I didn’t know what the future held for me, and at the time we didn’t have a solid college aged group. As the months and years went by going to church felt like something I would check off my list of things to do for the week, and my faith was weakened as there were few people my age that were there to grow closer to God with. When we started the MCM it was small at first, maybe like 5-10 members. And it grew and grew and grew. And as the group grew, so did my faith. This group is very loving and helpful. When one member is down many will come to offer a helping hand. I’m grateful for this group for helping me grow stronger in my faith. They are my brothers and sisters and I will forever love and support them.

I moved from Tampa to Ocean Springs right before my freshman year, and it was one of the most challenging transitions of my whole life. I came to South Alabama not knowing a soul and feeling quite homesick and lost. MCM was the first place I truly felt loved and welcomed. It wasn’t only the warm atmosphere that drew me in, it was the true passion for God that each one of us shared that was incredibly powerful. This group is full of people that love Jesus more than life and it shows. God led me here and I am so thankful that he did.

I’m so blessed and honored to not only be a part of this ministry but also humbled to be nominated and voted to be the male spiritual life director of this group! This group has grown on me and has become an integral part of who I am. I am so happy to have met every single member and even seeing them around campus always lights up my day. I’m very thankful for this group and for them bringing me closer to God.
