Who We Are & What We Believe

The Mobile College Ministry is a ministry of the Church of Christ. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and do not adhere to anything more or less (2 Timothy 3:16-17). We believe in the Holy Trinity of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God created everything in the beginning and continues to be at work in His creation (Genesis 1:1, Philippians 2:13). God sent His Son Jesus to live a perfect life on this earth and die for our sins so that we might have hope of eternal life in Him! (John 3:16) Jesus rose from the grave three days later and then ascended into heaven where He now lives for all eternity (1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Acts 1:9). The Holy Spirit resides in the lives of Christians to help them live a life pleasing to God (John 14:26, Acts 2:38, Ephesians 1:13-14). Jesus is the only way to salvation! (John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12)

Christ gave us the hope of living with Him in heaven if we do everything in our power to live for Him and obey His commands (Matthew 6:33, John 14:15). We are clothed with Christ when we believe in Him, repent of our sins, confess Him as Lord, and are baptized and raised into His death and resurrection (Acts 2:38, Galatians 3:27, Romans 6:3-5, 10:9-13). Christ calls us to be active members of His body, the church (Colossians 1:18, 1 Corinthians 12). When we gather together on Sundays, we remember His sacrifice by partaking of the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26). We also take this opportunity, as well as at other times, to sing songs of praise, pray, and hear a message taught from His Word! (Colossians 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, 2 Timothy 4:1-2) This is meant to strengthen our faith and help equip us to go out into the World to fulfill the Great Commission by teaching, baptizing, and making disciples through love and serving others! (Matthew 28:18-20, Galatians 5:13-14)

Our History

The Mobile College Ministry was born in May of 2021. At the time, there was no centralized college ministry in Mobile and nothing for college students to call their own. We started with around ten students, a very small budget, and not a lot to work with. But with excitement, determination, and God’s power working through us, the Mobile College Ministry has grown in ways only possible through God’s working.

The Regency Church of Christ partnered with us to allow us to use their building and their vans, and we are grateful to still share that relationship to this day. In October of 2021, we started our Instagram account to have a presence on social media. In April of 2022, the Mobile College Ministry became an official student organization at the University of South Alabama. In July of 2022, a board of directors composed of members from the area congregations was put together to oversee the ministry. In April of 2023, the Mobile College Ministry became an official non-profit organization with the ability to raise funds and opening the door for other opportunities as well. In May of 2023, we got our website up and running and a newsletter for others to keep up with what is going on.

In August of 2023, we had our first annual benefit dinner, which was a huge success due to the generous hearts of so many. As of March 2024, we have five churches financially partnering with us and many individuals. We now have 40-50 students involved in our ministry! Some live in town and some live out of town. Most are Christians, but our students do a great job of inviting others who do not know the Good News of Jesus Christ to hear about it and see it lived out in His church! We look forward to what the future holds, knowing that we serve a God who can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20), and we hope you will be a part of our next chapter!

College Minister

Hey guys! I was born and raised in Mobile and I have a deep love for my home and the church here is my family. I attended Mobile Christian School and then Harding University. I served in youth ministry for eight years in Mobile, Arkansas, and Kentucky. I have been married to my awesome wife Andrea since 2011. In May of 2021 we started the Mobile College Ministry to serve our young adults and work with the congregations in and around Mobile. I love sports, video games, and being outside in God’s creation with His critters. Andrea and I have a house full of fur babies and scaly things.
