Discover how lives are being changed through community, discipleship, and the power of God's Word

Nashville, TN, Junior
"About two years ago I moved down from Tennessee to Fairhope, Alabama, and during that time I took two gap years working to try and save for school. During those two years I constantly struggled to find a church college group that was active on that side of the bay. I tried multiple groups but they were all lacking a real sense of community and were rarely active. One morning I decided to travel across the bay to Mobile to go to church with my grandparents. That is where I bumped into Rob for the first time. From there the MCM has kept me active in a community of fellow believers, which is something I had been searching for. The people of the MCM have not only entered my life but more importantly changed it for the better in many ways, with the main reason being that my relationship and knowledge of God has grown by leaps and bounds. Having a community of like-minded believers tends to help one grow in their faith. Through this group I have been able to also make a plethora of friendships and memories that I hope to carry for the rest of my life."

"Making friends has never been hard for me; however, I had struggled to find lifelong Christian friends who share the same values as me. It wasn’t until about halfway through my freshman year I found the MCM and immediately knew I had found my place. When I first got invited by a classmate, they instantly took me in with open arms and became my brothers and sisters within a short period of time. I always look forward to every time we meet, because despite what I am going through, they never fail to bring a smile to my face. I was having some struggles with my purpose and knowing where God wanted me, but this ministry has helped me to know exactly where I need to be. This ministry makes me feel valued and has taught me to be more at the hands and feet of Jesus, and my faith has never been stronger. It is such a blessing to have like-minded friends to be able to walk with in my spiritual life who encourage me every day. I would not be the same person as I am today without the MCM, and I cannot thank God enough for bringing this group into my life. It has brought me so much joy and has truly made my college experience exceed my expectations."

"The MCM has been an invaluable resource for me during college. The things that stand out to me the most about this group are the closeness of its members and the consistent desire for spiritual growth that permeates it. The relationships I have been able to form through the MCM have not only helped me to recognize how I can grow, but they have also facilitated that growth. Moreover, through the continuous passion and kindness expressed by leaders and members alike, I have been taught many lessons about God, His view of my life, and how I can be confident in His word and provision. Between Bible studies, meals, tailgates, retreats, and game nights (among many other activities), there is constantly some opportunity to connect with others, to be encouraged, and to fulfill your diverse needs. I am so glad to be a part of this community, and I look forward to remaining active for as long as I can."

"I moved to Ocean Springs, MS from Tampa, FL for college, and it was a big transition. I felt homesick and lost, not knowing anyone. When I found MCM, it was like coming home. The group welcomed me with open arms, and I quickly made friends who shared my faith. The Bible studies and worship services helped me grow closer to God during this challenging time. MCM became my support system, and I'm so grateful for the love and community I've found here."

"To me, the Mobile College Ministry is home. I went to my first class late in the fall, and before spring, I felt like I had been there my whole life. The MCM gave me an almost instant support system of peers and advisors who love and support me and want to help me grow with God. As a student and now spiritual life director, I have been given opportunities to help others grow their faith along with my own that I would not have had otherwise. I truly feel like I found a place where I belong with the MCM. I made my best friends and found some of my biggest supporters within this group and don't know how I would make it through college life without them."

"I have been a part of things since the start of the MCM and it has really helped me grow into who I am now. During my time as a freshman at South Alabama, I was searching for a group of individuals to act as a Christian influence on my life. I was also looking for a group that I could fit into and feel a part of. The Mobile College Ministry has been that and so much more to me. I have met so many of my friends that I have now through the MCM and those friends have helped keep me accountable and growing in my faith. The projects of the MCM have helped develop me in my service to the Lord. The many service projects including hurricane cleanup in Florida and tornado cleanup in Kentucky have really allowed me to serve in the church. I am grateful that the MCM has given me Christian influences at a public university."

"The Mobile College Ministry means a lot to me. After leaving the youth group, starting college, and going through COVID, my faith became a struggle. I went to church but constantly had the thought, “What’s the point?” The MCM brought the spark back into my faith. Not only did it bring me many lifelong friends, but it also rejuvenated my walk with God. I consider myself lucky to be a part of this group every day. I know these are people I can go to for anything, whether I need cheering up or to have deep conversations with. These are my people and I wouldn’t trade them or our God for anything."
